NOWNESS – In this film commissioned by the Barbican, NOWNESS creative director and filmmaker Bunny Kinney borrows from the exhibition’s themes to create a playful, pastel-hued, talking-heads film exploring gender roles, patriarchy and hegemonic masculinity. “The concept was simple: to create a living document of ‘masculinity now’ embodied by a vibrant array of individuals,” says Kinney, who interviewed 16 people whose identities span the spectrum of masculinity. “Each person featured has a different relationship to their own sense of masculinity and what that even means to them.” Visit NOWNESS.COM or the app to find out more about the Barbican’s exhibition: https://o6g7.app.link/CVIioTgBh5″>https://o6g7.app.link/CVIioTgBh5 _______________________________________ Subscribe to NOWNESS here: http://bit.ly/youtube-nowness”>http://bit.ly/youtube-nowness Like NOWNESS on Facebook: http://bit.ly/facebook-nowness”>http://bit.ly/facebook-nowness Follow NOWNESS on Twitter: http://bit.ly/twitter-nowness”>http://bit.ly/twitter-nowness Daily exclusives for the culturally curious: http://bit.ly/nowness-com”>http://bit.ly/nowness-com Behind the scenes on Instagram: http://bit.ly/instagram-nowness”>http://bit.ly/instagram-nowness Inspiration on Pinterest: http://bit.ly/pinterest-nowness”>http://bit.ly/pinterest-nowness Staff Picks on Vimeo: http://bit.ly/vimeo-nowness”>http://bit.ly/vimeo-nowness
