Ask any seasoned surfer what their dream surf trip is – we bet a good amount come back with: “an Indonesian boat trip of course”.

While most surfers merely fantasize of the opportunity, two Groms took full advantage of lacking adolescent responsibilities and headed out on The Search. For Jak Ziets and Luke Wyler, this Rip Curl Team boat trip was a first. Just a group of Groms, heading to Grom heaven.

This was her training ground, or rehab, just days before the event that would decide the 2017 Women’s World Title. The event that would make Tyler a 2x World Surfing Champion. This particular day, Tyler flicked us a quick, cheeky grin before focus filled her face and she paddled out. With the knee brace secured and her game face on, it was clear in this particular training session that Tyler was ready to go. Ready to win, and that she did. The very next week Tyler Wright became the 2x World Surfing Champion. #GoTyler.
