Happy birthday Mechelen DIY ! May this day always be a special one to remember.

To celebrate the 10 years of a skatepark built by so many passionate people, a heavy crew gathered to clean every dusty coping corner on that day with their trucks.

To spice things up, there was five bands playing live, money for challenges, DJs, Beer showers on demand, fireworks, bonefires, a photo exhibition of the past 10 years action, and even some skate Karaoke… you name it…

Volcom – Photographer, Timothy White, takes you behind the lens on his shoot with N.W.A. following the release of their break album, Straight Outta Compton. Timothy recounts his experience riding in Dr. Dre’s Mercedes, the moment the surfer walked into the frame that Timothy just barely captured as Dre was making a phone call. An incredible set of photos of an iconic group by a young photographer that would go on to make a name for himself in the world of celebrity photography. Timothy White’s photo of N.W.A. he shot in Malibu in 1989 is currently part of the online virtual exhibition, Endless Summer, that also features photographic works of Henry Diltz, Guy Webster, Lynn Goldsmith, Pattie Boyd, Walter Iooss and Norman Seeff among others.
