Pop stars, they’re not like the rest of us. Let #MelanieC, a.k.a Sporty Spice of the #SpiceGirls, be proof of that with her hilarious anecdote about the time two of her band mates got “caught short” (really needed to pee with nowhere to go) while stalking Elton John’s private hotel floor. In the latest installment of Remember That Time, Melanie recalls the night in the ’90s when the group were staying at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills and “making the most of it” at the hotel bar. Word got out that Elton John was also in the building and, being Rocketman himself, had reserved a whole floor. Cue Mel B (Scary) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger) making their way past security in order to pay their fellow pop star a visit. This, Melanie explains, took a little longer than planned and all the drinks at the bar caught up with them before they found Sir Elton. Cut to one of the girls, with no access to a toilet, peeing in a nearby plant pot. “It seemed like the most hygenic thing to do” she explains, saying Elton was nowhere to be found. “He either heard the girls and chose to ignore, or he was out to dinner.” You can hear the full story by hitting play on the video above.

Chronixx and Ricky Blaze debate aliens, riddims, and more in Would You…

The FADER – Of course when #Chronixx is in town, he has to link with Brooklyn’s own #RickyBlaze. In anticipation for whatever they’ve been cooking up, and in tandem with the release of their newest singles — Chronixx’s “COOL AS THE BREEZE/FRIDAY,” and Lake’s “Swerve” — we’re sharing a video from when both artists touched down in the FADER office to play a pre-pandemic round of Would You Rather. The episode finds them faced with some truly existential dilemmas, such as whether to move to an alien’s planet or have an alien as a roommate. Plus, they mention the one riddim they wish they had thought of themselves, and offer tips for resourcefully recording in a quiet library (go the Ying Yang Twins route).
