DAILY GRIND – 지난 4월 7일, 동탄 센트럴파크 X게임장에서는 국가대표 스케이트보드 팀을 선발하기 위한 대회가 열렸다. 이번 선발전은 스트리트 및 파크 2개 종목으로 나눠서 진행됐다. 이번 대회에는 국내 랭킹 1위이자 작년 아시안게임 동메달리스트인 은주원(경기 수택고)을 비롯하여 최유진(경기 한솔고), 한재진(대전 충남중) 등 기존 국가대표 선수들이 대거 발탁됐다. 특히, 임현성(경기 용인신촌초), 조현주(서울 동교초) 선수는 초등학교 6학년임에도 불구하고 뛰어난 기량을 선보이며 국가대표로 발탁되어 향후 세계적인 선수로 성장할 수 있는 가능성을 보여줬다. 선발된 선수들은 2020년 도쿄올림픽 출전권 획득을 위한 각종 국제대회에 참가할 수 있는 자격을 얻게 되며, 국가대표 강화훈련 등을 지원받는다. 또한, 대한롤러스포츠연맹은 이번 국가대표 선발전에서 발탁된 선수들을 대상으로 오는 5월 20일부터 영국 런던에서 개최되는 SLS(Street League Skateboarding) 월드투어 대회에 파견할 예정이다.
